Alzheimer Europe reports that at least 5.7 million Europeans, aged between 40 and 80, have Parkinson’s disease or dementia. With an aging population, an estimated 10 million new cases of Parkinson’s and dementia is expected within the next 40 years. So today, European researchers are tackling the problem of how people with these diseases can keep their independence and quality of life longer, while safely living in their own homes.
