Functional drawing of a section of single layer columnar epithelium of the gall bladder.
Visible are the columnar (higher than wide) epithelial cells with their apical cilia. The cells sit on a basal membrane. The nucleus with nucleolus is visible.
Under the basal membrane (and anchored to it) there is the lamina propria. In this layer there are fiborcytes with their appengages. Between them is loose connective tissue.
The picture was put through a sepia and contrast filter. It was drawn from a HE-stained slide.
