Greater omentum (epiploon) in situ. The omentum majus hangs like apron from the greater curvature (Curvatura major) of the stomach or the transverse colon. It covers the ventral side of the abdominal organs, especially the small intestine, to about the navel. At the left it turns into the gastrosplenic ligament. The omentum majus is well supplied with blood and crossed by numerous lymphatic vessels.
