Bacteria are the smallest, single-cell microorganism (prokaryotes). Bacteria reproduce by cell division. Bacteria contain a nucleus like structure (nucleoid) and an independent maschine for protein biosynthesis (ribosomes). They do not contain a nucleus and regular no further organelles.
