Coiled aneurysm of the anterior cerebral artery (MCA) on the right, angiography obliquely from the front, 5 1 / 2 years after embolization. We can clearly see the significant unfolding of the platinum coils and reperfusion of the aneurysm. The dome of the aneurysm is thrombosed, the base of the aneurysm perfused (see gross pathology specimen). One sees a considerable increase in size compared to the original findings 10/1998 and state after embolization as well as the coils penetrating the aneurysm wall.Compared to the xrays of the skull (p.a. 10/1998, 10/1998 sideview, p.a. 03/2004, 03/2004 sideview) the unfolded coils are clearly visible. The aneurysm was resected because of the increase in size and reperfusion (increased risk of rupture and bleeding) and because the patient developed epilepsy.
