Psychogenic eating disorders are all abnormities of food intake or body weight that don`t have organic reasons. There are various psychogenic eating disorders, which are often hard to differentiate. But the topic "food" is nearly always the center of life. Psychogenic eating disorders are often manifestations of a psychic deficiency, such as lack of a stable family, love, attention, or social contacts. Sometimes reasons can be work-related failure or craving a romantic relationship. One of the most common eating disorders is anorexia. Even though this psychosocial disorder includes addiction-like mechanism, it is nor an addiction in the proper sense, rather than the center is the desire for an ever thinner body.
