Insulin secretion of people with type I diabetes
Diabetes type I occurs due to destruction of the Insulin-producing and -secreting Beta cells of the pancreas. This destruction is nearly always caused by the body`s own immune system and usually leads to an absolute lack of insulin, which means that an insulin therapy is necessary. Most of the patients are still children or young people when the disease appears, but it can appear in all ages.
