The incidence of Crohn´s disease is 2 to 3 in 100.000 people. The prevalence is 250 to 500 in 100.000. The amount of detected cases has significantly increased in the last years. The disease is not associated with a certain gender; in many cases young adults between the age of 15 and 35 are diagnosed.
