NSAID ulcer Ulcers can be classified into different categories. Common classifications given below: Covering of the ulcer surface/floor

Gangrenous ulcer: cover of necrotic tissue

Ulcus sphaecelosum: special form of the gangrenous ulcer

Granulomatous ulcer: Granulation on the ulcer floor

Fungous ulcer: spongious granulation tissue

Elevated ulcer: elevation of the ulcer floor in comparison to the surrounding skin- or mucosalevel caused by proliferation of granulation or timorous tissue

Callous ulcer: rigidification of the border

Ulcus durum: ulcer with a rigid border as a primary effect of syphilis

Ulcus molle: Ulcer after infection with Haemophilus ducreyi

Penetrating ulcer: Ulcer after perforation of all layers of the wall (especially in the stomach)

Sinous ulcer: undermining in the border area

Ulcus terebrans: massive destruction with transgression of cartilage and bone
