Blutkrusten im Gehörgang nach Wattestäbchengebrauch
Generally the external auditory meatus (meatus acusticus externus) is referred to as the ear canal. Together with the pinna it constitutes the outer ear. The length of the ear canal measures approximately 0.8 to 1.2 inches, the width being about 0.24 to 0.31 inches and has the form of a tube which curves lightly back and upwards in a convex fashion (protective function). The tube ends at the ear drum which marks the entrance to the middle ear.
