Unexpanded stent
A stent (vessels support) is placed in constricted or blocked vessel in the body through a stent implantation e.g. of the coronary arteries (e.g. in the context of a coronary heart disease) or cerebral arteries. Endothelium grows over the part of the stent which presses against the vessel walls (so-called Endothelisation) and keeps the lumen open.
