Limbic system
Green: (Isolated) parts of the limbic system with amygdala, hippocampus, fornix and ventral transition to the nucleus accumbens and cingulate cortex at the medial surface of the hemisphere. The olfactory bulb, a ventral structure on the left of the picture, also belongs to the limbic system. This system has functions in memory formation, as well as emotional and motivational functions.
