Anatomy heart
The human heart is the central organ of the blood circulation and functions as a pressure and suction pump that pumps 5 to 6 l of blood per minute through the human body. The heart is located in the mediastinum behind the sternum and inside the pericardium. The greatest part of the cardial mass is the heart muscle (myocardium), which is covered by endocardium on the inside.
