The human blood type describes the composition of proteins on the surface of red blood cells. There following blood types exist: 0, A, B, AB. There are antibodies in the blood agains foreign blood types. Because of these antibodies, blood can clot when blood of the wrong blood type is transplanted. The blood types are hereditary.
