The median nerve has motor and sesitive functions. In the hand it is the main motor innervator of the thenar muscles. Visible is also the sensitive innervation of the first three fingers and the thenar side of the fourth.
At the wrist the nerve passes through the carpal tunnel.
The ulnar and radial arteries are also visible at the wrist.
