Nucleus
Illustration of a nucleus in blue 3D. The graphic shows the nucleus, which is usually embedded into cytoplasm, from the outside, so that only the nuclear envelope is visible. Nuclei are found in all eukaryotic cells, which differentiates them from prokaryotes that don`t have a real nucleus with a double membrane. The nucleus contains the genetic information (DNA) in the form of chromosomes. It also has pores, through which mRNA sequences can leave the nucleus to be translated into the amino acid sequence at the ribosomes in the cytoplasm outside of the nucleus.
