On top: Bronchus with cartilage askew. Respiratory epithelium with microvilli as well as a muscular layer inside. In the middle: inflamed bronchus with infected mucosa (red) and mucus production, bronchitis. On the bottom: contracted bronchus e.g. because of bronchial asthma with bronchospasm and mucosa swelling.
