Human`s wart virus. A human papillomavirus is a mostly benign proliferation of skin or mucosa that consists of vessel containing connective tissue and epithelium. Cause of cervical carcinoma. Pubescent girls can be vaccinated! The human papillomavirus belongs to the family of papovaviruses. The name is compounded of the initial letters of papillomavirus, polyomavirus, and vacuolizing agent (S4). Papillomaviruses are a family with more than 70 known representatives. These DNA viruses measure only 50 nm and don`t have an envelope. They infect epithelial cells and reproduce in their nuclei. Papillomaviruses can cause so-called warts in humans and animals, mostly benign, sometimes spontaneously self-healing skin or mucosal tumors.
