Series of illustrations about the genesis of a carcinoma. This picture shows a highly progressed tumor in all epithelial layers. Contact with lymphatic vessels and blood vessels leads to spread of tumor cells and formation of metastases. Abnormal cells with the ability of autonomous (uncontrollable) and progressive growth form from normal body cells, in this case epithelial cells, by accumulation of genetic abberations.
