Skeletal musculature
Skeletal muscles are those muscles that are mainly responsible for deliberate, active movements of the body, e.g. the movement of arms and legs. The skeletal muscles are striated like the heart musculature. Muscles of this type are also found in the tongue, larynx and diaphragm. The L and T system are visible as well (electromechanical coupling / conduction of stimuli).
