Strictly one-sided antimesenterial fibrinous ischemic colitis.
Pathogenesis
The hypoperfusion is usually not caused by a thrombosis or emboly, but mostly by arteriosclerosis of the arteries that supply the intestine. The left colic flexure is the most commonly affected part of the colon. The typical age for an ischemic colitis is 60-80 years.
