Sticking-out ears usually are present since birth and are a harmless but cosmetically difficult malformation of the ear shape. Surgical correction is a very reliable operation, which can also be performed as out-patient surgery. It may be done in total anesthesia (children and adults) as well as in local anesthesia (adults).
