This patient presents with a form of skin cancer at a higly disadvantageous location - both functionally and aesthetically. Surgery of the nose with an ordinary excision of the skin cancer and wound closure would lead to a distortion of the ala of the nose with the consequences of an asymmetric nose and obstruced nasal breathing.
