Sigmoid colon with diverticulosis
Diverticulitis and covered perforation, 67-years-old patient.
Most patients come to the hospital because of pain in the (left) abdomen, fever and sometimes nausea, obstipation, or diarrhea. Clinical examination is necessary, as well as blood sampling with blood count (leucocytosis?), CRP, Crea/GFR (kidney function before CM is given), TSH (thyroidea function before CM is given), and maybe lactate, to diagnose before the imaging. The latter is essential to assert the severity of the disease. Here: Due to the perforation, the patient is already in stage IIb according the Hansen-Stock.
