Schematic of the eyeThe eye and its attached organs are situated in a recess in the skull, the orbita.Three layers are differentiated in the human eye:

Outer skin (Tunica fibrosa bulbi, Tunica externa bulbi)

Sclera
Cornea

Middle skin or uvea (Tunica vasculosa bulbi, Tunica media bulbi)

Iris
Ciliary body
Choroid

Inner skin or retina (Tunica interna bulbi)

The interior of the eye contains further structures:

Vitreous humour

Lens
