Atypical blue-ish thrush
Mucocutaneous thrush leads to whitish coating on the affected mucosa of the oral cavity and/or esophagus, which can be wiped off. It can be the first manifestation of AIDS.
Systemic Candidiasis is treacherous and doesn't always show organ-specific symptoms. In risk patients, one always has to consider it as a cause of newly occuring complaints. For a number of indication groups, a local antimycotic treatment is the recommended prevention to reduce the risk of invasive Candidiasis.
