Typical cysts: non-echogenic with increased contrast of the dorsal wall, shadow of the cystic margin, smooth or uneven, but acute boundaries.Additional finding: ascites.Therapeutic management consists of complete removal (excision) of the cyst, i.e. cystectomy, or opening the cyst while leaving the cystic tissue in place (marsupialization).Source: Sonographie-Atlas
