Zoological name: Naja kaouthia.
Origin: Asia.
Size: mostly app. 150, max. ca. 200cm.
Toxin: post-synaptic neurotoxins, cytotoxins.
Symptoms: ptosis, paralysis, paresis, peripheral respiratory paralysis (lethal) and necrosis; shock and allergic reaction possible.
Measures: artificial respiration, i.a. neostigmin, antidot, anti-tetanus prophylaxis; local treatment of the bite and necrosis: wound care, cleaning of the wound, anti-sepsis prophylaxis; general measures: 0,9% saline solution (i.v.); i.a. anti-shock therapy.
