Ronald Booj of Erasmus Medical Center in Dutch Rotterdam was awarded in the category trauma. There, a patient, in whose left eye a pointed object was stuck, was admitted to emergency care. Its tip was even reaching the cerebellum. On scanning with contrast with the computer tomograph Somatom Definition AS, a hemorrhage into the skull could be excluded. The radiation dose was 0.63 millisievert.
