Stenosis can affect hollow organs (pyloric stenosis), body orifices (stenosis of ear canal),cardiac valves (stenosis of aortic valve) or blood vessels (coronary stenosis). The cause for a stenosis is depending on its localisation.
Many possible causes come into question, for example space- occupying processes, inflammations or atherosclerosis.
