Biceps tendon rupture 1Surgery is always the method of choice of distal biceps tendon ruptures. The proximal rupture should be operated in case of young active patients, patients with severe symptoms, or enormous loss of strength.
Rupture of the long biceps tendonFollowing procedures are available:

minimally invasive surgery by Froimson: a hole is drilled through the intertubercular sulcus; the proximal end of the long bicpes tendon is knotted and anchored in the hole

Sewing the long biceps tendon to the short biceps tendon

Anchoring the long biceps sinew to the coracoid process

Rupture of the distal biceps tendon

transossal fixation: the distal sinew is fixed to the radial tuberosity by drilling a hole (minimally invasive surgery) or using a bone anchor
