Phlebography is a radiologic technique for the demonstration and the assessment of veins. (Compared to ultrasonography, phlebography is more elaborate and strenuous for the patient. Therefore, if a modern ultrasonography is present and the examiner sufficiently experienced, it is only rarely used.
