CEA operation site: Yellow loop: Common carotid artery, white loop: External carotid artery. There is a kink in the internal carotid.On the right side the common carotid artery originates from the brachiocephalic trunk while on the left side it emerges directly from the aortic arch. The carotid supplies almost every part of the head and neck with arterial blood.
