Left leg, after 15 years of venous ulcer - almost closed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"25 years of open legs - and always the wrong bandages - and alsways under treatmet, or rather MIStreatment"
The patient was scheduled for an amputation on the right side in Stuttgart on April 4th. The left side would surely have followed. This was called: "The last option". The leading wound care manager said: "Nobody in the world can get that closed." "I can only say: He does not know the world, because we closed it after 25 years. A circular venous ulcer. This patient wouldn't have her legs anymore if her daughter had not done internet research."
The right side had been open for 25 years, the left for 15 years. For 10 years a nursing service had been coming by daily. Public health insurance
Almost 1000 cm2 of ulcer-surface-area, secondary lymph edema due to wrong bandaging, 78-year-old female patient, after all possible kinds of "modern wound care"
The patient was always under medical care: Vacuum-therapy, shaving, all kinds of salves and wound dressings that can be imagined. This was a rather light case that got catastrophic treatment. The ulcers are venously caused and only got this bad through totally insufficient care.
The patient stayed in the hospital until december and the wound surface could be reduced from almost 1000 cm2 to 40 cm2.
