Virchow's triad (with explanation)
Virchow's triad (Virchow-Trias)
(without explanation text)
Hemodynamic changes (verlangsamter Blutfluss = slowed blood flow)
Hypercoagulability (erhöhte Gerinnungsneigung)
Endothelial injury/dysfunction (Gefäßwandschaden = defect in vessel wall)
Temporary almost fully immobile (only movement is going to the toilet) leads to slowed blood flow
Inflammatory processes lead to the activation of clotting factors which means hypercoagulability
Endotoxins and cytokins attack the vessel wall (damage to the endothelium)
