Permethrin in an insecticide that is used in human medicine in cases of pediculosis and scabies.
Permethin is a synthetic Pyrethroid. It inactivates the nervous system of insects and is a potent insecticide.
Toxicity in humans is low. Still, contact with eyes and mucosal membranes and breathing in should be avoided, since Permethrin is thought to be potencially carcinogenig when absorbed.
In external use no toxicity or carcinogenic potential is assumed.
