Ubichinone is a derivative of the chinone with a lipophilic side chain and structurally related to vitamine K and vitamine E. In it's oxidized structure it belngs to the group of ketones. It is also known as coenzyme-Q10.The reduced form is called ubichinol. By uptake of two H-atomes the ketone functional groups (-C=O) turn into hydroxyl functional groups (-C=OH).
