The brachiocephalic trunk usually occurs in human on the right body side. It arises from the aortic arch and is the common vessel trunk for the right subclavian artery and the right common carotid artery. On the left side these blood vessels arises directly from the aortic arch.in some cases, the left common carotid artery may also arise from the brachiocephalic trunk.
