Multipolar ganglion cells are ganglion cells that have one single neurite and several dendrites.Multipolar ganglion cells have one impulse conducting axon and at least two, often thousands of dendrites, that receive the impulse. They are characteristic for vegetative ganglions like the sympethatic trunk. The multipolar ganglion cells have different sizes and are accompanied by glia cells which surround the perikarya.
