Multipolar ganglion cell
Multipolar ganglion cells
are ganglion cells that have one neurite and several dendrites.
Multipolar ganglion cells have an impulse-conducting process (axone) and at least two, often up to several thousand impulse-receiving processes (dendrites). They are characteristic for autonomous ganglia like the sympathetic trunk. Multipolar ganglion cells have various sizes and are accompanied by glial cells that surround the perikaryon.
