Clinically, lipomas appear as soft, fluctuating and relocatable tumors in the subcutaneous tissue. Larger lipomas appear as a bulge on the skin. The skin over the tumor may even feel cooler, compared to the surrounding tissue.
Most lipomas are located on the middle part of the body. Face, scalp, hands and feet are rarely affected. They usually grow in a slow pace- in most cases through years. They come in very different sizes; varying between a diameter of 1 to 10 cm.
