A tape-bandage used in trauma surgery, orthopedics and sports medicine. It reduces load bearing and freedom of moment in joints and can be apllied after injuries or preventatively.
Construction of a tape-bandage
A tape bandage consits of padding (often foam to reduce compression), skin protection, an anchoring strip (decides direction of traction), a supporting element (decides limitation of movement) and a fixation strip. Additional covering and securing strips can be applied.
