Neuropathic ulcera (also known as mal perforans) belongs to the clinical symptoms of the diabetic foot syndrome. It is caused by a trophic dysfunction of the skin and pressure ( for example too tight shoes). Polyneuropathy leads to a reduction of the pain sensation, so ulcera are often noticed in an advanced state.
