Diagnosis: Mucinous cystadenomacarcinoma of the pancreatic tail
Description: Spleen, grown into a 13 cm large tumor of the distal pancreas. Multilocular cystic tumor. Smooth outer wall of the cysts. No papillary parts. No solid parts. Subcapsular anemic infarction of the spleen (arrow) with hemorrhagic surrounding.
Additional finding: Mucinous cystadenomacarcinoma , 13 cm. The main tumor is composed out of cysts, coated with mucinous epithelium and show a ovarian like stroma. Aggregations of dysplastic epithelium can be found, as well as well differentiated and less invasive parts of a carcinoma. Aggregations of medium grade epithelium dysplasia of the pancreatic duct (PanIN II).
