The pharyngitis is a relatively frequent minor ailment that mostly occurs within the frame of an infection of the upper airways with rhinitis. Exact epidemiological data are missing.
The symptoms are similar to those of an influenza where sore throat, dysphagia, headache and pain in the limbs, sometimes fever.
Pharyngal and palate are reddened and swollen. Children are more often affected than adults, and often indicate nausea as a further symptom.
