The preputium consists of two leafs, an external and an inner leafThe inner leaf of the preputium originates in the coronary sulcus directly behind the glans and is a direct continuation of the skin which covers the glans. Behind the external urethral orifice, it forms a plait that is called frenulum of the prepuce. There are glands interspersed into the inner leaf, that produce a sebum secretion, the so-called preputial glands. When the prepuce covers the penile glans, a hollow space is created between the two structures, called preputial sack. Around the end of the glans, the inner leaf turns over into the external leaf, which transforms into the penile skin without visible limitations.
