Diagnosis: Papillary muscle rupture
Description: The ripped of proximal end of the dorsal papillary muscle is visible in the frontal plane. The subacute infarction is not visible. Coarsly spottet fibrosis of the cardiac apex.
Compare to papillary muscle rupture
Additional findings: Subacute postero-septal myocardial infarction with rupture of the posterior papillary muscle with thrombotic obstruction of the sclerotic right coronary artery.
Clinically: 64-year-old male patient, acute congestive heart failure with acute mitral-insufficiency caused by papillary muscle rupture.
