Macroscopic picture (pathological section) of a so-called "nutmeg liver". The reason for this pathology is a chronic venous blood congestion into the liver due to a right heart failure. The right heart failure can be caused by valve dysfunctions, tumors, chronic pulmonary diseases or embolies.
