The CCD-angle (Centrum-Collum-Diaphysis) is the projection of the angle between diaphysis and the femoral neck onto an X-ray-image.
In clinical medicine the CD-angle can be determinded via charts from the projected CCD.
The CCD-angle decreases with age. Together with the CE-angle (Centre-Edge) it is used to diagnose Coxa vara or Coxa valge.
Children (Kinder) have a CCD-angle of about 140° and adults (Erwachsene) of about 125° and old people (Senioren) of about 115°.
