The possible destruction of healthcare in America for 20 million people under Trump and Paul Ryan.
The Republicans have repeatedly tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act and now that they will be in power, this may happen. They have no plans to replace the law. Insurance companies are gleeful that they will be able to raise premiums, as much as they want, deny healthcare to anyone with a pre-existing condition, not allow young people to stay on their parents' insurance until age 26, as now happens, and cancel a premium if an individual has been very ill or has a chronic condition and the insurance costs are too high. The insurance companies make millions and millions of dollars. The CEO of United Health is one of the highest paid CEOs in the country and their insurance is pushed by AARP. What is going on in the U.S. that money has become so important. How many millions can an individual spend?
Women will be charged more for insurance than men and the 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions will be in big trouble. More and more people will lose their homes because their medical costs are so high. I am sure also that drug prices will continue to go higher and higher, as the greedy drug companies seem to have no moral or ethical boundaries. Many people have to decide whether to buy food or their medicine. Yet Trump's cabinet is going to be filled with millionaires and billionaires, who can afford anything they desire.
